JRD Artshop

I did something a little out of the ordinary. I redesigned a SquareSpace website. Usually, I stick with WordPress or Shopify, and I would normally say to go with those platforms. However, there are times when it’s better to consider your client and simply meet them where they are to help them.

After discussing options and ideas with JRD Artshop, we settled on her existing SquareSpace site to do the redesign. Working with a template design guide by Big Cat Creative, I put together a very simple layout that would be easy to use and easy to understand for the users – simple sections with call-to-actions.

I used a color pallet that pulled from the existing brand colors – an off white, cream color for the main background to look like a canvas; turquoise green and mustard yellow as block background section colors; and a pastel pink as a final accent for the buttons. The goal was to create a design that would capture her brand image and represent her work that was unique to her while remaining simple.
